Night Shift

Amanda Cino

You cup your hands together

And breathe into them

Plumes of breath dissipate

Through the gaps of your fingers

I rub my hands together

As I lean against a booth

Creating my own warmth

Imagining it was your breath

Your lips against my neck

She appears from the air

As if your breaths have created her

And from the coffee shop across the street

I watch her take your hand in hers

As I take a left-over cup of coffee in mine
